Car accident on I-90 injures 3

On Behalf of | Oct 2, 2014 | Car Accidents |

Car accidents can be very scary for those involved, especially when they happen suddenly. In addition to the physical wounds left by the accident, many people can be left with long lasting emotional damage caused by the wreck.

Recently in Preston, Washington a car accident occurred after a Jeep left its lane and drove into oncoming traffic. According to reports, the accident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Interstate 90. A Jeep left the eastbound lanes and traveled into the westbound lanes. As a result, a truck swerved to avoid a collision, however, this maneuver caused the truck to roll several times before coming to a stop.

After missing the truck, the Jeep hit another car head-on. That car was then rear-ended by another car. Following the impact, the car that was hit first burst into flames which quickly spread to the Jeep. Three people were injured in the accident — including the driver of the Jeep. The driver of the Jeep was in stable condition, while the other two were listed in serious condition.

Police are investigating the accident to determine why the Jeep failed to stay in its lane. This investigation will be critical in determining who was at fault for causing the accident. When a driver’s negligence causes an accident, that driver can be held financially responsible for the accident.

Often, the negligent driver’s insurance company will try to settle with accident victims. However, insurance companies are only trying to minimize their financial responsibility. Therefore, those injured in accidents like this recent one should make sure to explore all their legal options before settling. A personal injury suit may be a better way to obtain compensation for people’s physical and emotional damage.
