Washington woman killed in auto-pedestrian accident

Washington streets and highways can be a dangerous place at night, especially for pedestrians. Drivers can be tired, under the influence of drugs or alcohol or distracted. Pedestrians, on the other hand, can be hard to see on dark roads. However, no matter the conditions or time of day, Washington drivers have a duty to be on the lookout for pedestrians in and around the roadways.

Despite this duty, pedestrian accidents still occur in Washington. Recently, for example, a woman was killed after being hit by two cars. According to reports, the pedestrian accident occurred at around 12:38 a.m. The woman was near an intersection when she was hit by a Ford Mustang. Following the initial impact, the woman was hit by another car -- a Honda Civic.

Police are still investigating the accident and notifying the victim's family. They are also trying to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in causing this accident.

Pedestrians have every right to use Seattle's roadways -- day and night. They should not be afraid of injury should they need to go out at night. Drivers need to keep their attention on the roads to avoid accidents.

Furthermore, auto-pedestrian accident victims should not be stuck with the burden of the costs when a pedestrian accident occurs as a result of a driver's negligence. In cases, like this one, where someone is killed or injured by a car, that person, or the person's family, should understand their legal rights. A lawsuit can help compensate those injured in a pedestrian accident. This compensation can cover costs including medical expenses, funeral costs, lost wages, pain and suffering and more.
