Interior Dept. denies claim in Olympic goat goring – seattlepi.com

If you are planning to go for a hike in Olympic National Park, watch out for the wild Mountain Goats.  In 2010 a 63 year old man was attacked and gored to death by a mountain goat while hiking in the park.  The man claims that the goat was known to be an aggressive animal and should have been dealt with by park officials.  The interior department claims that encounters with wild animals is a known risk of using the National Parks, and that there is no claim.

The man’s widow and her lawyers will likely be filing a lawsuit against the Interior Department for his wrongful death in the coming weeks.  Regardless of how this case is ultimately resolved, watch out for wild animals when you are visiting the National Parks.

If you have suffered any kind of injury while on someone else’s property, you may have a claim as well.  Visit our web site, or send us an email.
