CHELAN COUNTY, WA – A DUI suspect crashed into a vehicle on Highway 97 Friday evening, killing three people, including an 11-year-old child.
According to NCW Life Channel, the accident occurred on Highway 97 near mile marker 170 at around 6 p.m. The suspected drunk driver was passing vehicles in the oncoming lane when she hit another vehicle head-on. The collision pushed both vehicles into a motor home.
Local authorities pronounced three people dead at the crash scene. Fatalities included the drunk driver’s 11-year-old passenger as well as the driver and passenger of the second vehicle. No injuries were reported among the occupants of the motor home.
The drunk driver was taken to Central Washington Hospital with critical injuries. She potentially faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI.
