Pedestrian fatally struck in Seattle crash

While individuals in Washington and other states across the nation often stay indoors during cold and inclement weather, the roads are still filled with vehicles. According to recent reports, a fatal auto-pedestrian crash occurred in Seattle. Based on police reports, an SUV stuck and killed a man around the age of 60. The accident occurred in the nighttime hours on 15th Avenue West. Investigation purports that the man stepped into traffic on the main thoroughfare.

The pedestrian accident happened on the 2200 block of 15th Avenue West near Wheeler Street. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man was declared dead on site. Currently, investigators revealed at the time of the crash, the SUV was traveling north when the pedestrian crossed the street and was hit. The 23-year-old driver of the SUV showed no signs of impairment. Investigation is still ongoing at this time and no charges have been filed.

Pedestrians are not equipped with the safety features most motor vehicle have, causing serious injuries even in a slow moving collision.
