My friend was crushed by a falling tree – Please help!

I don’t usually use this blog to make personal appeals for help, but this time I feel I have to. Last Wednesday, April 26, my friend Mary Sabetto was driving southbound on I-5 heading toward Tacoma, when a tree fell across the road, crushing her Prius and causing serious injuries. Check out the horrifying dashcam footage.

Mary suffered 4 broken vertebrae, a compressed lower back, fractured rib, and a serious traumatic brain injury as well as numerous cuts and bruises. She will be in a body and neck brace for at least the next 6 weeks and will have a long road of treatment ahead of her.

Due to a lack of adequate insurance coverage, Mary was sent home from Harborview Medical Center this week. The doctors at Harborview recommended that Mary move into an inpatient rehabilitation facility, but she can’t afford the recommended treatment.

Mary is a single mother with very little support at home. She has dedicated her career to helping others, and she is currently on a medical leave of absence from her job as a Deaf/Blind Lead Employment Consultant with Washington Vocational Services. She has overwhelming medical and household needs, and she needs your help.
