Bus accident in Washington sends students to hospital

Drivers throughout the state of Washington need to pay attention to what they’re doing. Distracted driving and other dangerous habits can cause a serious car accident. Not only can an accident occurred between two cars, but an accident can occur with other vehicles on the roadway, causing serious damages. When a school bus is involved in an accident, the likelihood for multiple injuries increases. School buses often carry large numbers of children and special care should be taken to avoid accidents.

Recently in Olympia, a school bus accident occurred. According to reports, the bus accident occurred in the morning when 49 middle school students were on a bus. The accident occurred less than one mile from the school where they were headed. Reports claim that the driver of a car slammed into the school bus.

It is unclear why the driver collided with the bus. However, the accident occurred with such force that the school bus’s rear axle was broken. Additionally, six of the students were injured in the accident. The students were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the car was also injured in the accident and taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

In this case, the school district says the school bus driver prevented other injuries by avoiding a head on accident following the initial collision. However, even the one collision was enough to cause damage.
