Pregnant Washington woman killed by impaired driver

No one likes to imagine that their families will be affected by a fatal car accident. However, fatal car accidents are common in Washington and after often preventable.

Recently, a man and his pregnant fiancé were involved in a car accident. The couple was returning from a trip to a hospital in a taxicab at that the time of the accident. According to reports, a driver of a pickup truck crossed the centerline and into the lane where the cab was driving. While the driver of the cab tried to avoid the accident, the pickup truck hit the cab head-on.

In the accident, the 36-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital before being released. However, the man’s 34-year-old fiancé and their unborn child both died as a result of the collision. The cab’s driver suffered serious injuries in the accident and remains in the hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck only suffered minor injuries in the accident. Following the accident, the 48-year-old man was arrested. Police believe that drugs and alcohol played a role in causing the fatal car accident.

The family of this woman now have to emotionally come to terms with her death. It is always difficult for a family to deal with the loss of a loved one, however, this loss can be even more tragic when it is so unexpected and was preventable.

Drunk drivers are often responsible for causing fatal accidents. They cannot react the way an unimpaired driver is able to under the same circumstances. Those Washington residents who choose to driver drunk and kill someone as a result should be held responsible for their actions. A wrongful death suit can help families financially recover from an accident. While this compensation cannot replace what a family has lost, it can ensure that they do not suffer further damage as a result of someone else’s negligent behavior.
