Washington police are investigating an accident between an SUV and a commercial bus that has left three people with injuries. According to police, a casino bus – which was empty at the time of the accident – hit an SUV before its driver lost control and crashed into a nearby building. Following the accident, the bus driver and two passengers in the SUV were hurt and taken to local hospitals. Witnesses say that two other people fled from the SUV following the accident, however, it is not known whether they were hurt in the bus accident.
Witnesses have given conflicting accounts about how the accident has occurred. Police are trying to sort out the details to get to the bottom of what really happened. Apparently, the conflicts surround who had the red light and who had the green light, and whether speed was an issue. Furthermore, police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident and if people did in fact flee the scene.
Unanswered questions, such as these, are common following a bus accident. People are often left wondering why the accident occurred and who was responsible. Often times, people are also left with staggering medical expenses, serious injuries and other debt following a bus crash. These large vehicles often cause serious damage to any other car or vehicle in their way.
Like large trucks, commercial busses often provide society with a valuable service. They help to move large numbers of people around the state – particularly in urban areas where traffic can be difficult. However, this convenience can come at a cost when negligent bus driver or companies refuse to follow the rules of the road. If a driver or bus company is negligent, a personal injury suit can help victims with the devastating costs of the accident. However, this can usually only be done after questions about why the accident occurred are answered – which is why police investigations are so important.
