There’s nothing like watching a movie outdoors on a warm summer night. This summer there are two different venues for watching movies under the stars in Everett.

The first venue is Thornton A. Sullivan Park, Camp Patterson Field, 11405 Silver Lake Rd., Everett, WA 98208. They recommend you bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a movie on the park lawn. Snacks will be for sale at the park, but they only accept cash.

The movie begins at dusk, but there will be pre-movie entertainment before each movie that starts at 7:30.

The schedule for this venue begins tonight with Pete’s Dragon. The series continues over the following four Fridays with Lego Batman (July 28), Finding Dory (August 4), Secret Life of Pets (August 11), and Rogue One (August 18).

If this venue or these movies don’t work for you, the Port of Everett is hosting a “Sail in Cinema” at Port of Everett Waterfront Place. You can sail in and watch from your boat, or watch from land at Boxcar Park.

The movies begin tonight (July 21) with the original Footloose at 9:25 p.m. Over the next five Fridays you can catch Jurassic Park (July 28), Captain America: The First Avenger (August 4), Field of Dreams (August 11), Zootopia (August 18), and Top Gun (August 25).

If you plan to go to either venue, make sure to bring a blanket! It can get a little chilly on the waterfront at night. Also, they discourage blankets or low-back chairs to make sure everyone can enjoy the movies.

Remember to stay safe this summer, and we’ll see you at the movies.
